In the era of Artificial Intelligence, people have started creating deepfake photos and videos of celebrities and real-life people. This can be misleading and cause damage to one’s reputation. Recently, Actress Alia Bhatt has become the target of a deepfake video where a fan of hers has swapped Punjabi actress Wamika Gabbi’s face with hers.
Alia Bhatt’s face on Wamika Gabbi’s body
An Instagram user named ‘unfixface’ posted a video. In the video, Alia Bhatt’s face was superimposed on Wamika Gabbi’s body. The original video was of the Punjabi actress Wamika Gabbi.
She can be seen in a red saree with a matching blouse. She shared the video with the caption – “Your Premika is a Chamkila fan.”
Amar Singh Chamkila’s ‘Pehle Lalkare Naal My Dar Gai’ song was used as the music for this video. The fake video is the original video but with Alia Bhatt’s superimposed face on Wamika’s body. The misleading post was shared with the caption – “Alia Bhatt off screen.”
The post soon garnered views and comments from the audience who were quick enough to point out that the picture was fake! Some even shared the original video and wrote – “Look, Alia’s face has been attached to this video by AI technology.”
Actress Wamika rose to popularity by starring in movies like VD 18, Kali Jotta and 83. She will next be seen opposite Varun Dhawan in the film ‘Baby John’, directed by Kalees. Baby John was initially supposed to be released on May 31, but now it has been postponed.

Alia Bhatt will be seen on the silver screen this upcoming September 27, 2024, in Vasan Bala’s Jigra. The movie will be co-produced by Karan Johar. She will also play the lead in Spy Universe which is yet to begin shooting in the latter half of this year.
