Malayalam Filmmaker Omar Lulu Alleged of Sexual Assault and Drugging

Malayalam film director Omar Lulu is facing serious allegations of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman under the pretense of marriage. According to reports, the victim has lodged fresh complaints against the filmmaker, accusing him of spiking her drink with MDMA (ecstasy drug) before allegedly assaulting her.

 Allegations and Legal Proceedings

The complainant alleges that Lulu made false promises of marriage while hiding his existing marriage. She further claims that he sexually assaulted her by promising a role in his upcoming movie. The incident reportedly occurred when the victim was called to a hotel on the pretext of a film discussion. She was then raped after being given a drug-laced drink.
Lulu has a history of drug addiction, and the case was initially registered based on his statement. Later, it was transferred to the Nedumbassery police station following directions from the City Police Commissioner, reports MSN.com.

The complainant also stated that Lulu has been threatening to settle the case privately, involving his driver Nasil Ali, friend Azad, and others. The survivor’s petition argues that Lulu holds significant influence and could potentially tamper with witnesses and evidence if granted bail. The petition demands that the accused be taken into custody for further questioning.

Director’s Response

On Tuesday, Omar Lulu denied the sexual assault allegations against him, claiming that the young actor’s accusations stem from personal enmity. He believes that the complaint is part of a blackmail attempt to extort money.

The court had previously granted interim anticipatory bail to Omar Lulu, who maintains that the complainant had been residing with him in his apartment since 2022, and their relationship was consensual.
