Disney Pixar’s Inside Out 2 has been breaking records since its June release. The film has surpassed ‘The Avengers’ to reach another milestone and is now the 10th highest-grossing movie ever.
According to Deadline, the film has earned $1.524 billion at the box office globally. It has crossed ‘The Avengers‘, which earned $1.521 billion, and ‘Furious 7‘, which earned $1.515 billion, to land the no. 10 spot on the all-time chart.
A Record-Breaking Success
Last month, the Kelsey Manner-directed film became the highest-grossing animated film of all time worldwide, surpassing Disney Animation Studio’s Frozen II with $1,462.8 at the global box office, Deadline reported.
The film’s debut weekend marked the largest opening for an animated picture globally, at $295 million. ‘Inside Out 2 then rapidly surpassed the $1 billion global milestone in just 19 days, the quickest for any animated film.
It is the highest-grossing film of 2024 and the only one to cross $1 billion. In early July, ‘Inside Out 2’ became Pixar’s highest-grossing film worldwide. Disney has seven of the world’s top ten animated films, five from Pixar.

‘Inside Out 2’ is a sequel to the 2015 film ‘Inside Out’, which collected $858 million at the box office worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.

The film, directed by Kelsey Mann, stars Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Diane Lane as Mrs. Andersen, and Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Andersen. They are joined by Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Kensington Tallman as Riley Andersen, Tony Hale as Fear, Liza Lapira as Disgust, and Ayo Edebiri as Envy, among others.
The story revolves around human emotions and their role in a person’s life as they experience a difficult, life-changing event.
