Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift‘s album “The Tortured Poets Department” is back on the Billboard 200 chart, as reported by Billboard on August 4.

Swift’s 11th studio album spent 12 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts before Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) dethroned “The Tortured Poets Department” to take the Number 1 spot. However, the album is now back on the charts for the thirteenth week. (The number 13 is reportedly Taylor Swift’s lucky number.)

The popstar’s previous albums; “Red” and “1989” had earlier spent a total of 11 weeks at the Number 1 spot. But this album has broken all the records. “Poets” is Swift’s longest-leading album of her career yet.

Album Sales

Tortured Poets earned 71,000 equivalent album units in the United States for the week ending August 1 (a 3% decrease), according to Luminate. That is the weakest weekly total for a No. 1 album since the March 16 chart, when Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” peaked at 68,000 sales.

The last album to spend at least 13 weeks at No. 1 was Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time,” Billboard reports, which scored 19 total nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 between March 2023 and March of this year.

Swift’s album broke Whitney Houston‘s record for her album “Whitney” for the most consecutive weeks a female artist’s album spent at number one. Houston’s 1987 album spent the first 11 weeks at the top of the charts before slipping.

“I also wanted to say to everyone who’s supported The Tortured Poets Department,” she captioned her post with pictures of her from the Eras Tour. “I am completely blown away by what you’ve done – it stayed at #1 for the first 12 weeks of its release, and that’s never happened to an album of mine before, not even close!! You’re just the greatest,” she added.
