Matthew Perry Death Investigation Reveals New Details, 5 People Charged

” F.R.I. E.N.D.S.” star Matthew Perry’s death on October 28, 2023, sparked various controversies surrounding his unnatural demise. The actor’s passing was ruled as an accident, “drug and drowning-related”. This made fans question his mysterious and untimely death.

New revelations have been made regarding the case, as five people have been charged in Perry’s death. The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office launched a criminal inquiry after determining he died as a result of “acute effects of ketamine.” The Los Angeles Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the U.S. Postal Service, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California are involved in the investigation.

What has the investigation revealed?

A.B.C. News reported that U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said that charges had been filed against two doctors, Perry’s live-in assistant, and “the Ketamine Queen,” who reportedly supplied him with ketamine before his death. Estrada stated that the inquiry “revealed a broad underground criminal network responsible for distributing large quantities of ketamine to Mr. Perry and others.”

“We charged five defendants in this matter. These defendants took advantage of Mr. Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong; they knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Mr. Perry, but they did it anyways,” he added.

Who all are charged in Perry’s death?

According to a press release from the Department of Justice, three of the five accused have either pled guilty or agreed to plead guilty.

The primary accused in the case are Jasveen Sangha, 41, reportedly known as “The Ketamine Queen,” and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, 42, a certified medical doctor known as “Dr. P.”

The report also revealed the three other defendants who are separately charged. These include Dr. Mark Chavez, 54, a licensed medical doctor who admitted in court documents to selling ketamine to Plasencia; Eric Fleming, 54, who admitted in court documents to distributing the ketamine that killed Perry; and Kenneth Iwamasa, 59, Perry’s live-in assistant, who admitted in court documents that he administered the ketamine on the day Perry died.

Estrada stated that in the autumn of 2023, Perry, who had previously fought with addiction, “fell back into addiction, and these defendants took advantage to profit for themselves.”
