Nintendo Museum Opening Date, Prices, Reservation Process

The legendary video game company Nintendo will open its much-awaited Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan, on October 2, 2024. Video game creator Shigeru Miyamoto showed some of the museum’s intriguing features in a new video that showcased its design and interiors.

The museum is located in Uji City, Kyoto, where Nintendo initially created its Hanafuda cards and later used them for quality inspections throughout the Famicom period.

Nintendo Museum features

Miyamoto demonstrated the museum’s various interactive elements in a 13-minute video tour. This included a recreation of a 1970s Japanese apartment, a digital card game display, and giant controllers that make you feel like a Pikmin while attempting to pick up and even use a large Wii Remote.

The museum’s second floor has a large exhibition hall with elements from Nintendo’s vast history displayed in periods and consoles. The first level contains eight interactive experiences that require digital currencies to play. When you visit the museum, you will receive ten coins on an admittance card that you may design with your Mii. According to the museum’s website, visitors cannot participate in all events even with ten coins.
