Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024: All Big Announcements

The world’s biggest video game convention, Gamescom is here to showcase the games that will be available in the near future. The event was hosted by Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards, and took place in Cologne, Germany. It largely focused on the new looks of the freshly announced games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Dune: Awakening.

Here is a list of the new games announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024:

1. Borderlands 4

The show opened with 2K games and Gearbox announcing the teaser for “Borderlands 4”. It is the eighth game of the Borderlands series and will be released somewhere in 2025 on PC. According to an official description by Polygon, “Players will assume the role of a legendary Vault Hunter as they blast their way through hordes of enemies in search of new treasures to loot on an all-new planet.”

2. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6

Gamescom was a delight for all the fans of Call of Duty fans as the event witnessed a 6-minute 49-second Black Ops 6 gameplay trailer. The trailer highlighted some hand-to-hand action sequences, motorcycle-car chase segments, and the series’ core gunplay.

3. Goat Simulator: Remaster

The original Goat Simulator is getting an official remaster for its 10th anniversary. It will have improved graphics and lighting, along with the previous “fan-favorite” DLC. It will be released in 2024.

4. Dying Light: The Beast

Techland announced the next game in the Dying Light series, Dying Light: The Beast. The open-world, parkour-based zombie game will have the original protagonist Kyle Crane returning in the game. No official release date has been announced.

5. Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero

The long-awaited Budokai Tenkaichi sequel Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero will be released on October 11. The gameplay teaser shows action sequences between Goku and his friends.
