The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to an astounding $800 million after no tickets matched the winning numbers in Friday night’s drawing. The numbers drawn were 6, 23, 41, 59, and 63, with a gold Mega Ball of 25 and a 2X Megaplier.
This marks one of the largest jackpots in Mega Millions history, and excitement is building as players across the country prepare for the next drawing on Tuesday. The cash option for the upcoming jackpot stands at $401.8 million2.
Despite the lack of a grand prize winner, Friday’s drawing was not without its share of winners. Five lucky players from California, Florida, Illinois, New Hampshire, and Texas matched all five white balls, each winning $1 million. Additionally, a player in Ohio matched all five white balls and had the optional Megaplier, doubling their prize to $2 million, reported Fox Business.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions grand prize are a staggering 1 in 302,575,3501. The last time the jackpot was won was on June 4, when a player in Illinois took home $552 million, the 10th-largest prize in the game’s history.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. ET. The deadline for purchasing tickets is 9:45 p.m. on the night of the drawing.
