The ongoing Duleep Trophy 2024 match between India A and India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium witnessed a moment of brilliance from Shreyas Iyer. The India D captain took a stunning catch to dismiss Tilak Varma, leaving cricket fans in awe.
The wicket fell during Saransh Jain’s over. Jain bowled a well-executed good-length delivery just outside off stump, forcing Tilak Varma into a defensive position. The ball, however, had other plans.
It took a subtle spin, grazing Varma’s bat and flying low towards the slip cordon. Shreyas Iyer, with his sharp reflexes, dived low to his right and secured the catch, sending Varma back to the pavilion after scoring just 10 runs.

This dismissal was a crucial moment in the match, as India A struggled to build a solid innings. Earlier, they had lost their captain, Mayank Agarwal, cheaply to Vidhwath Kaverappa’s bowling. Pratham Singh, brought in to replace Shubman Gill, also failed to make an impact, falling to a sharp bouncer.
At the time of writing, India A was at 109 for five, with Kumar Kushagra and Shams Mulani at the crease.
