The reunited Jane’s Addiction concert in Boston ended abruptly on Friday night after lead singer Perry Farrell punched guitarist Dave Navarro onstage. The incident occurred during the performance of “Ocean Size,” leaving fans and band members stunned.
According to eyewitnesses, Farrell appeared agitated and walked towards Navarro before ramming his shoulder into the guitarist’s back. Navarro, visibly perplexed, questioned, “What the fuck?” as Farrell continued to yell at him. The situation escalated when Farrell landed a right hook on Navarro’s shoulder. Crew members quickly intervened, restraining Farrell and escorting him offstage.
The concert, which was part of the band’s reunion tour, ended after just 11 songs, three or four songs short of their typical setlist. Reports suggest that tensions had been simmering between the bandmates since the tour began in August. At previous stops, Farrell’s long-winded bantering with the crowd had visibly frustrated Navarro.
Fans took to social media to express their shock and disappointment. One fan tweeted, “I can’t believe what I just saw. Perry Farrell just punched Dave Navarro onstage! What’s happening to Jane’s Addiction?”
The band has yet to comment on the incident, and it remains unclear whether the tour will continue as planned. The next scheduled performance is set for Sunday night in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
This incident marks a dramatic moment in the band’s history, highlighting the ongoing tensions between its members. As one fan aptly put it, “It’s sad to see such talented musicians at odds with each other. I hope they can work things out for the sake of their music and their fans.”
