Taiwan has taken effective defensive measures in response to China’s extensive military exercises, dubbed Operation Joint Sword 2024B. The Taiwanese Defense Ministry has deployed mobile radar units at strategic locations across the island to monitor Chinese naval operations closely.

These radars are part of a broader strategy to enhance situational awareness and ensure rapid response capabilities. Additionally, Taiwan has positioned launchers of anti-ship cruise missiles in its coastal zones, ready to counter any potential maritime threats.

The Chinese drills, which involve warships and fighter jets encircling Taiwan from all directions, have heightened tensions in the region. Taiwan’s Defense Ministry has condemned the exercises as an “unreasonable provocation” and emphasized its readiness to defend the island’s sovereignty.

The U.S. has condemned the drills, calling them a destabilizing action that threatens regional peace and stability. The State Department has reiterated its support for Taiwan and urged China to cease its military pressure.
