Congress Under Fire: Kharge Accused of Waqf Land Grabbing in JPC Deposition

“Congress President Kharge Faces Serious Allegations of Waqf Land Grabbing”

Former Karnataka Wakf Board Chairman Accuses Congress President Kharge of Waqf Land Grabbing

In a startling deposition before the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, Anwar Manippady, the former Chairman of the Karnataka Wakf Board, has leveled serious allegations against Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Manippady claimed that Kharge was illegally acquiring Waqf land in Karnataka.

During his testimony, Manippady stated, “Mallikarjun Kharge and several other Congress leaders have been grabbing Waqf properties. This has deprived the Muslim community of valuable resources that are meant for their welfare.”

Opposition MPs walked out of the session, arguing that such accusations should not be made without substantial evidence. One MP remarked, “This is a blatant attempt to tarnish the reputation of a senior leader without any proof. We cannot allow such baseless allegations to be part of the parliamentary record.”

Manippady, however, stood firm on his claims, urging for a thorough investigation. “The misuse of Waqf land is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. I call upon the authorities to investigate these allegations and bring the culprits to justice,” he asserted.

The deposition has ignited a political firestorm, with BJP leaders demanding accountability. A BJP spokesperson commented, “These allegations are grave and cannot be ignored. We demand a full investigation to uncover the truth.”

In response, Congress leaders have dismissed the accusations as politically motivated. A senior Congress leader stated, “This is nothing but a smear campaign aimed at tarnishing Kharge’s image ahead of the elections. We have full faith in the judicial process and are confident that the truth will prevail.”

The JPC session, chaired by BJP leader Jagdambika Pal, continued despite the walkout, with various stakeholders providing their views on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. The opposition MPs have announced plans to write to the Lok Sabha Speaker, expressing their concerns over the committee’s proceedings and calling for adherence to parliamentary rules.
