‘Ek Diya Shahido Ke Naam’ Event in Gorakhpur

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in the ‘Ek Diya Shahido Ke Naam’ event at Bhim Sarovar in Gorakhpur on November 2, 2024. The event, held to honor the sacrifices of the nation’s heroes, saw a large gathering of citizens and officials.

A Tribute to Our Bravehearts

Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the martyrs. “Each diya lit here today symbolizes the eternal flame of their bravery and dedication to our motherland,” he said. “Their sacrifices are the foundation of our nation’s freedom and security.”

A Sea of Lights

The event featured the lighting of thousands of diyas around Bhim Sarovar, creating a mesmerizing view. Citizens from all walks of life participated, lighting diyas and offering prayers.

“It is our duty to honor those who laid down their lives for us,” said a local resident. “This event brings the community together in a shared sense of gratitude and respect.”

The evening also included cultural performances and patriotic songs, adding to the solemn yet celebratory atmosphere. School children performed skits and dances depicting the lives and sacrifices of the martyrs.

“These performances remind us of the values and principles our martyrs stood for,” remarked CM Yogi Adityanath.

In his concluding remarks, the Chief Minister called for unity and patriotism among the citizens. “Let us pledge to uphold the values of our martyrs and work towards a stronger, united India,” he urged. “Their legacy is our guiding light.”
