Incident Details
The protest was organized in response to a recent attack on a Hindu temple by a pro-Khalistan mob. The temple hosted a consular camp co-organized by the High Commission of India when the incident occurred.
According to Bordman, the officers were at the temple to restore order following altercations between Khalistani supporters and members of the Hindu community. Still, they were seen “punching” templegoers and “beating them with batons”.

Eyewitness Accounts
One video shows a bearded officer charging at a man and then punching him, seemingly without provocation. A woman who caught the incident on camera accused the police of targeting only Hindu community members while shielding Khalistani protesters.

Community Reaction
The Hindu community in Brampton is now scared to visit temples, with many feeling unprotected by local law enforcement. “The police in the area were completely ineffective in protecting the minorities and failed to create adequate security arrangements,” Bramhabhatt added.
