IPL Auction 2024 Jeddah: BCCI Introduces New Marquee Player Format

IPL 2025 Auction: 10 Top Players

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction will feature two sets of marquee players. The auction is scheduled in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25.

A BCCI official stated, “We have decided to include two sets of marquee players in this year’s auction to ensure a more dynamic and competitive bidding process.”

The marquee players, who are expected to draw notable interest, include well-known names such as Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, R Ashwin, Mitchell Starc, and Jos Buttler, among others. “These players have set a base price of INR 2 crore each,” the official added.

The BCCI has informed the franchises that the auction proceedings will be heavily influenced by the bidding on these marquee players. “By the end of the first two sets, we anticipate that 30 to 50 percent of the available auction purse will have been spent,” the official explained.
