A Black Friday shopping spree turned chaotic at the Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock, Arkansas, as shots rang out, leaving three people injured. The incident occurred at 1:44 p.m., according to the Little Rock Police Department.

Initial Reports and Police Update

Initially, the Little Rock Police Department reported three injuries. However, a later update clarified that two individuals were injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including one with gunshot wounds. “Initially reported as a potential active aggressor situation, officers quickly determined it was an isolated incident upon arrival,” the police department stated.

Incident Details

The shooting appears to have stemmed from a “disturbance” between two individuals, which escalated into gunfire. Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. expressed his concern, stating, “Two individuals today jeopardized the lives and safety of residents and visitors. We are praying for the victims of this incident and are hopeful they make a full recovery”, reported ABC News.

Eyewitness Accounts

Troy Daniell, a manager at Journey’s Kidz shoe store, recounted the terrifying moments: “I got all of the customers that were in my store out of there. I got them all in the back of the store and out of there. When I heard the first shot, I thought something may have fallen, but then I heard a few more shots and immediately understood what was happening”.
