The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Pakistan early next year and the issue of India playing in Pakistan or Dubai is still unresolved. In a bid to resolve the ongoing deadlock between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the PCB has unveiled a new proposal termed the “Partnership Formula.”
Details of the Partnership Formula
Under the Partnership Formula, India will play all its CT 2025 matches in Dubai, while Pakistan will not tour India until 2031. This arrangement is designed to mitigate security concerns and political tensions between the two nations. The PCB’s proposal comes after extensive discussions and negotiations with the International Cricket Council (ICC).

ICC’s Urgency
The ICC has urged the BCCI to accept the Partnership Formula within 24 hours to avoid further delays in finalizing the tournament schedules. “We believe this proposal offers a fair and balanced solution to the current impasse,” said an ICC spokesperson. “It is crucial for the BCCI to make a decision promptly to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournaments.”
BCCI’s Response
The BCCI has yet to officially respond to the PCB’s proposal. However, sources within the board indicate reservations about the Partnership Formula’s long-term implications. “We need to carefully consider the impact of this arrangement on future tournaments and our team’s participation,” said a BCCI official.
