Saif Ali Khan Stabbed in Home Invasion: Police Launch Investigation

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after an intruder entered his and Kareena Kapoor’s home in Mumbai’s Bandra. The incident occurred around 2:30 am on Thursday when the actor was asleep with his family. The intruder allegedly stabbed Saif while he was trying to protect his house help.

Robber Flees Scene After Attack

According to the police, the robber fled the scene after the house’s occupants woke up. The Bandra police are registering an FIR, and several police teams have been formed to apprehend the culprit.

Emergency Surgery Underway

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, stated, “An unidentified person in his house attacked Saif. He was brought in at 3:30 am to Lilavati. He has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him.” The surgery, which began at 5:30 am, is still ongoing.

Police Investigation

A senior IPS officer confirmed the incident, saying, “Saif Ali Khan has been admitted to Lilavati Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. It is not clear yet if he was stabbed or injured in the scuffle with the robber. We have been investigating the matter. The Mumbai crime branch is also conducting a parallel investigation into the incident.”

Details of Injuries

Lilavati Hospital sources said that one injury was deep and has received 10 stitches for this stab, but it did not affect his spine. “He was very lucky that the stabs had not affected any vital organs. It appears to have been attacked by a knife and he was thwarting off a robbery attempt.

Dr. Uttamani also mentioned that there is another injury on Saif’s neck, which is being evaluated. A doctor at Lilavati Hospital, who wished to remain anonymous, told HT, “The doctors found a piece of knife in the body and are still examining the extent of the damage. However, the actor is able to move his limbs, which shows that the spine is okay.”

Family Support

Saif’s family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh, are with him at the hospital. The couple has been married since 2012 and resides in the Satguru Sharan building in Bandra West.
