SpaceX Successfully Deploys 23 Starlink Satellites in Monday Night Launch

SpaceX launched a new batch of Starlink satellites on Monday, February 10. The launch happened at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. A Falcon 9 rocket lifted off shortly after 6:09 p.m. PST.

The launch was originally planned for Sunday but was delayed. The rocket carried 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit. SpaceX later confirmed the deployment of 22 satellites on X. This mission marked the 23rd flight for the first-stage booster. The booster has supported 13 other Starlink missions before.

After launch, the first stage safely returned to Earth. It landed on the drone ship “Of Course I Still Love You.” The ship was stationed in the Pacific Ocean for recovery. SpaceX continues expanding its Starlink network globally.

Sonic Boom Potential

“There is a possibility that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may hear one or more sonic booms during the launch, but what residents experience will depend on weather and other conditions,” SpaceX said in a statement prior to the launch.

Starlink is the world’s first satellite constellation, using low-Earth orbit satellites to allow broadband Internet capabilities in the most remote places around the world.

Starlink Services and Capabilities

Starlink announced its services in Bhutan on Monday. The satellites orbit 342 miles above Earth. They provide strong and reliable connections. Users can stream videos, make video calls, and play online games without interruptions. The service improves internet access in remote areas.

SpaceX will launch Starlink V2 Mini satellites on Tuesday. The launch will happen from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The window opens at noon and closes at 4:31 p.m. EST. After liftoff, the first stage booster will land on a droneship in the Atlantic Ocean.

Starlink Constellation Size

SpaceX has launched 18 Falcon 9 missions in 2025. Twelve of them were for Starlink flights. Since the first launch in 2018, around 7,000 Starlink satellites are in orbit. Each satellite is 9.2 feet long, 4.6 feet wide, and 0.7 feet thick. SpaceX plans to have 42,000 satellites in orbit, according to Space.com.
