England won the toss and have elected to bat first against India in the crucial match at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The match will be played at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham.
Both the teams are coming into this match with some changes to their line-up. Rishabh Pant, who came into the side as the replacement to Shikhar Dhawan, has been named in the XI.
Vijay Shankar has been dropped from the side after some mediocre performances in the previous matches.
The English opening batsman Jason Roy, who was out for the last three matches from the side, has finally recovered from his injury. He has replaced James Vince in the XI. In addition to this, Moeen Ali has been left out of the side for this match. Liam Plunkett has been included in his place. According to the ESPN Cricinfo, captain Eoin Morgan said that it was tactical change more than anything.

Shankar out with a toe niggle
According to the Cricbuzz report, Indian skipper Virat Kohli informed at the toss that Vijay Shankar has a toe niggle which is the reason behind him being left out of the side. He also said that India wouldn’t mind chasing a target on this track.
The pitch is expected to be good for batting but spinners will get some turn. It was informed that the pitch will offer a bit more turn in the second innings. With both teams being good batting units, it is expected to be a high-scoring match.
India has won five matches so far in this tournament with their other match being a washout. They are currently placed in the second position. India needs just one more win to qualify for the semi-finals.
England is struggling at this point in time. They have won four out of their seven matches. They need to win both their matches to qualify for the knockouts.
