Fans of superstar Rajinikanth have been celebrating his 63rd birthday to the song ‘Lungi dance’ playing on the loop. However fans in the star’s home city Chenna were eager to dance to the songs of Rajini’s latest movie “Kochadaiyaan”.
The music release was supposed to be on the superstar’s birthday. However it may be some more time for that.
In a tribute to Rajinikanth’s role as an autodriver in the movie “Baasha”, several auto drivers decorated their auto rickshaws with photos of the superstar and the number 64 written in bold.
While Albert Theater in Chennai will be screening 4 different movies of the superstar, fan associations have a variety of programs lined up on the occasion.
Among them are distributing food and alms to the poor, eye donation and blood donation camps at various places. An offering of 108 gold coins or ‘kanagabhikshekam’ was held at the Raghevendra temple in T Nagar.
Several fans and media persons were seen outside the star’s Poes Garden residence on Thursday morning. Latha Rajinikanth,
Rajinikanth’s wife informed the media that the superstar was not present in Chennai and he was having a quiet birthday. The superstar prefers to celebrate his birthday most of the time in a quiet manner, out of town with his friends.
However last year he had come out on his home and waved out to his fans. His next movie is the period film with 3D motion capture, “Kochaidaiyaan” with Deepika Padukone and is expected to release in early 2014.
