Formula One champion Michael Schumacher in critical condition after ski accident

Seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher went into coma after suffering serious brain trauma following a skiing accident at the French ski resort of Meribel on Sunday.

A neurosurgeon has been drafted into the hospital from Paris for the treatment. Schumacher has undergone two brain surgeries overnight but still remains in critical.

Michael_Schumacher The resort officials released a statement saying that Schumacher fell while skiing and hit his head on a rock. He was wearing a helmet which was crucial in protecting him to certain extent as per doctors.

Schumacher was reportedly conscious when rescuers rushed to the scene. Following the accident, within seven minutes, he was heli-lifted to Univesity hospital in Grenoble in a state of coma.

A press conference has been organized by doctors treating the 44-year-old Formula 1 legend in morning.

Doctors said that it is too early to say on the prognosis and they working hour-by-hour. Schumacher had one operation in which clots on the brain were removed. He is currently in intensive care and his condition is still critical. Michael’s ‘s wife, son and daughter are all at his bedside in the hospital.

Formula One champions, drivers and many celebrities flooded Twitter wishing for recovery and survival of the 44-year-old F1 champion.
