Telugu film industry stunned as actor Uday Kiran found dead

Well known Telugu film actor Uday Kiran was found dead in his apartment on Jan 6, 2014. Uday’s wife found his body hanging from the ceiling at his flat in Hyderabad. He was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Police said that as per the available information, it can termed as a suicide case. The 33-year-old actor was apparently suffering from depression for past few months.

Uday Kiran had earned the title of “Hat-trick Hero” after his first three movies “Chitram”, “Nuvvu Nenu” and “Manasantha Nuvve” became hits. He also starred films like “Nee Sneham”, “Kalusukovalani”, “Sreeram”, “Avunanna Kaadanna” and “Nuvvekaddunte Nenakkadunta”. His last movie was “Jai Sriram”. He was the youngest winner of the Filmfare Award for Best Actor after Kamal Hasan in 2001 for the film “Nuvvu Nenu”. He made his Tamil debut in 2006 with the film “Poi”, directed by veteran K. Balachander.

Reacting to the untimely death of the young actor, celebrities like Sudeep, Priyamani, Vimala Raman and Prakash Raj shared their condolences on Twitter and Facebook. Actor Srikanth visited the hospital and said that Uday was like a brother and he was shocked about the suicide as he was too stubborn to take such a tragic step. Music composer R.P. Patnaik wrote that Uday still has many fans and he should not have committed suicide, but should have fought till the audience realized his importance. Kannada actor ‘Kiccha’ Sudeep wrote that the news came as a shocker since he had spoken to Uday less than a week back in Bangalore.
