Indian Express reported that Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Irrfan who were shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj’s movie “Haider” in Kashmir were attacked with a fire pot.
A man had reportedly thrown a fire pot aiming the actors. However, the police intervened and controlled the crowd and the shooting went on smoothly for the movie.
A source from the set told that a scene was being shot where both Shahid Kapoor and Irrfan were moving towards a car but suddenly someone from the crowd threw a Kangri (fire pot) hitting Irrfan. The ash from the pot also fell on Shahid Kapoor as well. Soon after the incident spectators were seen fleeing from the spot.
When contacted about the incident, Police denied the reports saying that the youth were demanding autographs from the actors. When the police tried to control the crowd a man carrying Kangri slipped along with it.
The cast and crew of “Haider” movie are shooting for the last phase of the film in Kashmir for 20-25 days. The filming is reported to be done in Srinagar.
The movie was being shot last year at Kashmir University which had to be stopped after the students objected to hoisting of the national flag on top of a make-shift bunker.
“Haider” is an Indian adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy “Hamlet” starring “Aashiqui 2” fame actress Shraddha Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor along with Tabu and Irfan.
