IPL 2014 Auction in Bangalore on Feb 12, 13 to be live telecasted by Sony Six

There will be some freshness in the coming seventh season of the Indian Premier League with all the teams up to a major overhaul to their squads.

Teams are allowed just the five players (a maximum of four Indian players) to retain from their previous season squads.

The rest of the squad for each of the franchise team will be made via the mega auction that will take place at the Mysore Hall, ITC Gardenia in Bengaluru on the 12^th and 13^th (if required) this month.

The IPL Committee has listed out as many as 514 players who will be available for auction. This huge list includes 219 capped players – 169 Indians and 50 overseas players.

There are also 292 uncapped players – 255 Indian domestic players and 37 overseas domestic players. Three players from the ICC Associate Nations – the O’Brien brothers (Niall and Kevin) from Ireland and Ryan ten Doeschate from Netherlands are also available for the Auction.

The Pepsi IPL 2014 auction will commence at 9:30 AM on the 12^th of this month and will be held under the eyes of Richard Madley, a UK based auctioneer. This is of course, the first time that Madley and the IPL will conduct the Auction in Indian Rupees instead of the US Dollars that was used in the previous seasons.

It is also the first time that uncapped Indian players will go through the auction unlike the previous seasons. So good times ahead for the domestic stars who haven’t been lucky to represent India yet.

The Live proceedings of the Pepsi IPL 2014 Auction will be broadcast on Sony Six and Sony Six HD channels.

There is a marquee list of 16 players who will first go for auction and it includes the likes of Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh along with some of the top international stars like Pietersen, Kallis, Bailey, McCullum etc.

The biggest pick of this Pepsi IPL 2014 Auction is most likely to be New Zealand’s explosive hitter Corey J Anderson.

The bulky all-rounder has announced his arrival by hitting the fastest century in ODI Cricket beating the long held record of Shahid Afridi.

But Corey J Anderson will have to wait as he has been slotted at no.83 in the all-rounder list at a base price of Rs. 10,000,000.
