IPL 7 Auction update

The seventh edition of the Indian Premier League has begun the auction of cricket players on Wednesday.

About 219 capped players with 169 Indian players and 50 overseas players along with uncapped players are being auctioned. This time also Pakistani players are not allowed in the IPL.

David Warner with a base price Rs 1.5 crore went for Rs 5.5 crore to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virender Sehwag went for Rs 3.20 crore to Kings XI Punjab. Murali Vijay with a base Price of Rs 2.00 crore went to Delhi Daredevils for Rs 5 crore.

Jacques Kallis with a base price of Rs 2 crore went to KKR for Rs 5.5 crore. Yuvraj Singh with a base price Rs 2 crore went to RCB for Rs 14 crore.

Kevin Pietersen with a base price of Rs 2 crore was sold to Rs 9 crore to Delhi Daredevils. Mahela Jayawardena and Ross Taylor remained unsold and will be re-auctioned on Thursday.

Aussie players George Bailey and Mitchell Johnson with a base price of Rs 2 crore went to Kings X1 Punjab for Rs 3.25 crore and Rs 6.50 crore respectively.

Faf du Plessis with a base price of Rs 1.5 crore was sold at Rs 4.75 crore to Chennai Super Kings. All-rounder Darren Sammy went to Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 3.50 crore.

Amit Mishra with a base price Rs 2 crore got retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 4.75 crore. Michael Hussey with a base price of Rs 2 crore went to Mumbai Indians for Rs 5 crore.

Brendon McCullum with a base price of Rs 2 crore went to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 3.25 crore. Dinesh Karthik with a base price of Rs 2 crore went to Delhi Daredevils for Rs 12.5 crore.

Cheteshwar Pujara with a base price of Rs 1.5 crore was sold for Rs 1.90 crore to Kings XI Punjab. Aaron Finch with a base price of Rs 1 crore went to Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rs 4 crore. Zaheer Khan went to Mumbai Indians for Rs 2.60 crore.

Dwayne Smith went for Rs 4.5 crore to Chennai Super Kings and Manoj Tiwary went to Delhi Daredevils for Rs 2.8 crore. Shaun Marsh was retained at Rs 2.20 crore by Kings XI Punjab while Brad Hodge was sold for Rs 2.40 crore to Rajasthan Royals.

Robin Uthappa was sold at Rs 5 crore to KKR and JP Duminy went to to Delhi Daredevils at Rs 2.20 crore. Albie Morkel went at Rs 2.40 crore to RCB while Thisara Perera was sold to Kings XI Punjab at Rs 1.60 crore.

Yusuf Pathan was retained by KKR for Rs 3.25 crore and Steve Smith was sold to Rajasthan Royals at Rs 4 crore. David Hussey, Angelo Mathews, Tillakaratne Dilshan remained unsold.

Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan were sold at Rs 2.60 crore and Rs 2.40 crore respectively to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The auction will resume again on Thursday.
