Kangana Ranaut was honoured with the Padma Shri Award in New Delhi on Monday, November 8, 2021. After receiving this award, Kangana took this to her Instagram account and shared a message with her followers.
The ceremony was held to honour the awardees at Rashtrapati Bhawan by President Ram Nath Kovind. Among those awardees, there were Kangana Ranaut, Adnan Sami, Ekta Kapoor, Karan Johar, and the late singer SP Balasubramaniam.
Speaking on the camera, Kangana spoke that how she had received many awards for her work as an actor but the Padma Shri award showed that how much the country value her not only as an actor but also as an ‘ideal citizen’. She said that how much she struggled at the start of her career and how grateful she is.
Kangana ended her speech by saying that this award will leave many people’s mouths zipped. She concluded her speech by saying that people often ask her about what does she get by doing all this? Why does she do all this? This is not her job. “Padma Shri ke roop mein jo mujhe sammaan mila hai ye bahut logon ke mooh band karega,” she concluded.

Besides Kangana, the singer Adnan Sami and the filmmaker Ekta Kapoor were also honoured at the ceremony with the Padma Shri awards. After being conferred with Padma Shri, Adnan spoke to ANI and shared that he would like to dedicate the award to his parents.
“Sometimes you don’t have words to express yourself. Thankful to Govt. Thankful to people, nothing is possible without them. I dedicate this to my father-mother. It’s not only an honour but also a responsibility, which I’ll try to carry out well,” he said.

Karan Johar had written, “It’s not very often that I am at a loss for words, but this is one such occasion…The Padma Shri. Such an honour to receive one of the civilian awards in the country.
Overwhelmed by so many emotions right now. Humbled, elated, and also thankful for the opportunity to live my dream every day, to create and to entertain. I know my father would be proud and I wish he was here to share this moment with me”.
