PM Modi Nepal Visit: Relationship Between India-Nepal Will Help All Humanity

PM Modi paid for A-day long visit to Nepal on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. After laying the foundation stone for the India International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage at Lumbini, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba conducted a joint meeting.

In his statement at the Buddha Jayanti ceremony in Lumbini, Narendra Modi emphasized that India-Nepal ties are as unbreakable as the Himalayas. He further stated that the growing relationship between India and Nepal will help all of humankind in the current world crisis.

According to a notable Nepalese tourism entrepreneur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s debut tour to Lord Buddha’s birthplace Lumbini is likely to provide a much-needed boost to Nepal’s tourism business, which is still struggling from the consequences of the coronavirus outbreak.

Arindam Bagchi, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, regarded it as an “opportunity to enhance ongoing cooperation and establish new fields in our diverse alliance.” PM Modi had previously secured prayers at the Maya Devi temple. “I am delighted to have worshipped at the Maya Devi Temple on Buddha Purnima,” Modi tweeted, posting pictures from the visit. As he reached Lumbini on Monday morning, the PM was greeted by his Nepalese counterpart.

Business Deal Approved by both the Prime Minister

The firm stated in a release on Monday that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the building of the 490 MW Arun 4 hydroelectric project in Nepal was approved in Lumbini, Nepal, in the attendance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Nand Lal Sharma, Chairperson and Managing Director of SJVN, added it will be the company’s third large project in Nepal. The 900 MW Arun-3 facility is currently under development, while the 669 MW Lower Arun project is in the study and assessment stage.
