The state government has ordered a police investigation after a student who appeared for NEET exam on Sunday was allegedly forced to remove her bra before writing the exam.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday told the Assembly that the complaint by the student, a native of Kannur, who was allegedly asked to remove her bra before the exam, will be probed by the police.
On Tuesday, the English Medium School in Kannur suspended four women teachers in connection with the incident.
The complaint by students of other schools that they were ill-treated by the frisking team at the exam venue will also be probed.

Students were allegedly forced to remove metal buttons and cut shirt sleeves before writing the exam.

The Chief Minister’s response came while replying to a motion moved by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala. The opposition leader said that the manner in which frisking was done created fear in the students and demoralised them

The CM also said that the complaint by a woman candidate at Kuruppampady St Mary’s school, Ernakulam that she was not able to write the exam due to the restrictions will be probed.
The CM also pointed out that the impact of such restrictions will be huge for students especially when they have to appear for exams in other schools, reports Times of India.
An 18-year-old student, Anitha (name changed), a native of Kannur had told The News Minute that the body search had affected her confidence to write the exam.
