Narendra Modi, Chandrababu Naidu put up joint show at Hyderabad

Setting aside differences, BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi shared the stage with TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Telugu actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan at a rally in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening.

Modi was flanked on stage with Mr Naidu on one side and Jana Sena leader Mr Kalyan on other. Pawan, who vowed for a Congress free india had offered unilateral support to the NDA in current Lok Sabha polls. Modi said that the three of them one plus one plus one is not equal to three, but 111.

Earlier in the day Mr Modi also addressed the public meetings at Nizamabad and Karimnagar and Pawan Kalyan earned Modi’s praise in his speech. Naidu failed to find any mention in the speeches leading to a speculation about the strain in ties of BJP and TDP.

Of the four rallies held by Modi in the Telangana region, Mr Naidu attended only at Mahabubnagar and Hyderabad. According to sources, the local BJP leaders Telangana districts opposed sharing stage of Mr Naidu with Mr Modi at the rallies.

The two parties are yet to settle their differences over three seats in Seemandhra that have been allocated to the BJP, but have TDP candidates too. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is April 23, 2014.
