Hindi romantic comedy movie “Shudh Desi Romance” was released on September 6, 2013.
Released in around 1500-1600 screens and multiplexes in India, an average occupancy of 50% and steady collections are enough to make the movie a hit.
“Kai Po Che” star and TV heartthrob Sushanth Singh Rajput is trying his hand for the first time with romantic genre.
The star, who didn’t have a heroine in his debut movie, is seen romancing two ladies Parineeti Chopra and Vaani Kapoor in this movie directed by Maneesh Sharma of “Band Baaja Baarat” fame.
Vaani Kapoor is debuting in Hindi movies in this film produced by Yash Raj Films and written by Jaideep Sahni. The film also stars veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor in a principal supporting role. The music is scored by the duo Sachin-Jigar.
The movie which explores ‘live in’ relationships is expected to click with youth and urban audience. Hence the collections are expected to be better at multiplexes.
Another Hindi release “Zanjeer” which is a remake of yesteryear hit could also prove a deterrent in the collections of this youthful flick. “Zanjeer” being an action film is expected to give tough competition in mass centres for “Shudh Desi Romance”.
A teaser of much anticipated Aamir Khan starrer “Dhoom 3”, which is attached to the movie is expected to give further boost to the movie.
