The incident had allegedly took place on the second day of the five day match last Thursday. Anderson had allegedly abused and pushed Jadeja after they left field for lunch.

The ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) reacted with surprise and denied the accusations saying that they fully support Anderson. The cricket board has also notified the ICC that they want to lodge violation of code of conduct charge against Jadeja.

In a statement, the ECB said that James Anderson categorically denied the accusations against him. The ICC said that it a Judicial Commissioner is being appointed to probe the charges. The commissioner will gather evidence for next 14 days. Anderson faces the prospect of a ban of two to four Tests or four to eight ODIs if proven guilty.
