Salman Khan impresses critics with “Kick”

Expectations have been set high from Salman Khan’s latest film “Kick” that has released on July 25, 2014. With a running time of 146 minutes, “Kick” has been released across 4,400 screens in India and close to 700 screens abroad. This is the widest release ever for a Hindi movie.

Salman’s previous movies like “Wanted” have released on Eid and been very successful at the Box Office. Hence “Kick” is also expected to recreate the same magic. Salman’s last movie “Jai Ho” had failed and even the ‘Dabangg’ Khan admitted it as a failure.

Salman plays an undercover savior named ‘Devil’, an adrenaline junkie. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays a negative character and actor Randeep Hooda plays a cop in the film. Jacqueline Fernandez plays a psychiatrist in the film. The movie is a direct remake of Telugu hit movie by same name, released on May 8, 2009.

The screenplay for Hindi version has been adapted by Raja Arora, Sajid Nadiadwala, Keith Gomes and famous author Chetan Bhagat. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is making his directorial debut with “Kick”. It is produced by the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.

The music of “Kick” has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya, Meet Brothers Anjjan and Yo Yo Honey Singh. Salman has even sung for the first time for a song called ‘Hangover’ in the film. Actress Nargis Fakhri did a special item with Salman for the movie

In his review, film critic Taran Adarsh gave 4.5 out of 5 stars and said that “‎KICK”‬ is a paisa vasool, seeti-maar entertainer.
