Gas Stimulus Payments: When will you receive these direct payments?

Although a fourth stimulus check was never approved by the federal government, a gas tax pause is expected to be discussed
All around the United States, the price of gas has been rising quickly for much of 2022. Thankfully, July has seen the rising prices slow, and even take a turn for the better again as they get cheaper.
Many states have already begun enacting their own legislation governing gas tax reductions or pauses.
There are currently 20 states where tax breaks have been suggested. Only seven states, though, have already given their approval for the pause.
Although California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York, and Illinois have agreed to a tax pause, the nationwide average price of fuel, as of July 8, is 4.696 dollars.

Residents of Connecticut ceased paying the gas tax at the pump in April.
The Motor Vehicle Fuels Tax, which cost 90 million dollars, was approved in March. The 0.25 dollars per gallon on anyone filling up was delayed as a result. It has been extended till November 30, 2022 from its original expiration date of June 30, 2022.
“The suspension of the gas tax helps provide some relief to consumers as they face rising prices due to a number of international dynamics and market instability that go far beyond our state,” democratic governor Ned Lamont said back in June.
Georgia has also temporarily stopped its fuel levies.

The suspension will end on July 14, 2022.
In order to counteract the growing cost of gas, Illinois is providing people with gas and transportation cards.
They’re delivering this in the form of a gas refund instead of getting rid of the tax.
“Starting tomorrow, every Illinoisan will get tax relief on essentials: groceries, gas, your home, and back-to-school supplies, with even more tax relief going into effect next year,” said Illinois governor JB Pritzker on July 1.

From June 1, 2022, until December 31, 2022, the state’s fuel taxes will no longer be collected in New York.
