Akshay Kumar’s comedy drama Entertainment, has opened to overwhelming response at the Indian Box Office. The family entertainer got a mixed opening at the box office.
Opening in 2800 screens in India, the movie got good first day opening collections despite competition from Salman’s movie “Kick”. Most of the audience comprises of youngsters and young kids for “Entertainment” directed by debutant duo Sajid-Farhad who also wrote dialogues for the movie.
The movie is produced by Ramesh S. Taurani of Tips Industries Ltd. and stars Akshay Kumar and a dog in lead roles. The supporting cast includes Tamannaah Bhatia , comedians Johnny Lever, Krishna Abhishek, veteran Mithun Chakraborty, Prakash Raj and Sonu Sood. Music for this movie is by Sachin-Jigar.
Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the movie 3 and half stars out of 5. Meena Iyer of Times of India gave 3 stars saying that Akshay Kumar’s bonding with the dog has those ‘oh-so-cute’ moments. Hindustan times gave a negative review saying that the film fails to entertain. India today gave the movie 1.5stars saying that the movie is a bagful of boring tricks.
The movie made on Rs 750 million budget opened decently grossing Rs 11 crore on first day. Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted the movie collections in UAE-GCC on on its opening day.
With no other Bollywood release this week, the weekend box office response of “Entertainment” is expected to fare well.
