It's Time to Build Some Brand Awareness

Running a business means you’re going to have to come up with a brand and build some brand awareness around your company. This, of course, requires a lot of specific knowledge. Here are a few different things that you can do to get your brand’s journey on its way!

What Is Brand Awareness?

Let’s start out by understanding what brand awareness actually is. This is a term that’s thrown around a lot, but that many people don’t truly understand. Put simply, brand awareness is a marketing term that is used to refer to the number of customers who recognise a product through the name of the brand or company that sells it. Good brand awareness will ensure that people automatically think of your company when they want something that you sell. A good example is the Jacuzzi. Jacuzzi is just a brand name for the bubbling hot tub, but when people say Jacuzzi they automatically think of this product – and the company’s brand awareness is so good that many people refer to any bubbling hot tub as a “jacuzzi”.

Branding Your Company

The first forward-thinking step on your brand awareness journey is branding your company. Branding is so much more than simply choosing a brand name. You have to make sure that there is a recognizable look and feel about your brand too. You need an easily recognizable and identifiable brand logo. You need to come up with a brand tone of voice. You may want to choose a colour scheme. An aesthetic. Maybe even a tagline and a jingle. If you find that you’re struggling to come up with a good brand that reflects what you want your company to present itself like, you can work with a branding agency that will take this hard work off your hands, providing different ideas and examples for you to choose from.

Getting Into Advertising

Once you have your brand, it’s time to advertise and market it. You can have a greatly appealing brand, but if you don’t show it off and get it out there, people aren’t going to have the opportunity to get to know it and associate it with the products and services you’re offering. There are, of course, countless different types of advertising and marketing that you can get involved in. From PPC advertising to social media advertising, Programmatic Display Advertising, TV and radio ads, print ads (like posters, billboards and leaflets) and so much more. Of course, this is going to take investment. So, set a budget, do some market research into the best ways to reach your target demographic’s attention and see what you can do!

Influencing

If you’re reaching out to a younger demographic, you may want to collaborate with some influencers and build your online presence. Chances are, your audience are spending a lot of their time online following specific social media influencers who you can collaborate with to share your brand and promote your products or services.

Hopefully, some of the advice above will help you to get your brand’s journey started out in the right direction!
