After much days of anxious wait, “Ungli” directed by Rensil De Silva finally hit the theaters on 28th November 2014.
The film which stars Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles is receiving mixed to positive reviews from all corners.
The entertaining nature of the film has gained appreciation from all corner, but the lack of a gripping story is being considered as a major flaw.
The movie showcases the story of five friends who meet in a gym. Seeing the atrocities in the society, they started bouncing back, and to give justice to the downtrodden, they form a gang called “Ungli”.
The out of the law activities of the “Ungli” gang literally disturbed the law enforcing agencies in the city, and at this juncture comes, ACP Kaale. The remaining movie showcases the cat and mouse game between Kaale and the Ungli Gang.
The movie is a visual treat, and the cinematographer, Hemant Chathurvedi has succeeded in crafting some excellent shots with perfection. Rensil De Silva’s direction was extra ordinary, but the script lacked the punch.
The strong names in the acting department is the main highlight of the movie. Emraan Hasmi, Kangana Ranaut and Randeep Hooda have done their jobs in a pretty decent manner.

But our pick among the lots is Sanjay Dutt who enacted the role of ACP Kaale with finesse.
The initial reports about the movie indicate that it will emerge as an average grosser in the Box Office. The first days collections is just Rs 4 cr.
