Christmas Bonus check: Americans to get special payment of up to $1,000; Check eligibilityy

Public schools in Atlanta will send their employees a one-time bonus next week, a Christmas bonus.

Just before Christmas, thousands of Americans will be able to see their finances a little bit lighter thanks to a special bonus of between $500 and $1,000, although a series of requirements must be met to obtain it.

“This is a sign of our continued investments in our human capital and, as superintendent, I want to applaud and thank the board for allowing this demonstration of commitment to our most precious resource,” commented Lisa Herring, local superintendent.

Atlanta gives a special bonus to its teachers.

The Board of Education approved, just a few days ago, payments of $1,000 for full-time staff and $500 for part-time staff. According to information from The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the department will pay $10.9 million in retention bonuses from its funding reserves.

This payment is similar to what Atlanta education workers received last year, and for this year, the bonus will be included in employees’ paychecks for the December 15 bi-weekly paycheck.

These bonuses will be awarded six months after the school board approved a $974 million budget to address salary increases and to recruit and retain staff in under-resourced schools.

Who else will receive bonuses this Christmas?

Also in Georgia, in Gwinnett County, government workers will receive a bonus this year, ranging from $750 to $1,500, for both full-time and part-time workers.

Other municipalities across the country will offer unique Christmas bonuses to support their workers in these times of inflation. Berlin, Maryland, approved payments of $500 for municipal employees. This payment will benefit a total of 60 employees.

On the other hand, in Tennessee, low-income families will receive $500 in direct payments. To do so, they must be enrolled in the state’s Families First Program (FFP), also known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

There will also be bonuses in the Jacksonville/North Pulaski school district in Arkansas, although this will depend on the type of job held in the schools. Teachers will receive $5,000, with $2,500 available for support staff.

And before the end of 2022, no later than December 31, homeowners in Pennsylvania will be able to apply for a property tax rebate of up to $1657.
