Prince William attended the wedding of his ex-girlfriend Rose Farquhar over the weekend—arriving at the event without his wife, Kate Middleton. Rose married her fiancé George Gemmell at the Gloucestershire ceremony.
“It was a magical winter wedding in the snow,” the source said. “The bride and groom left in a tunnel of guests with sparklers in the dark, before leaving in the back of a vintage Land Rover. The Cotswolds are so beautiful in the snow!”
Fox News reports, Rose was William’s “first love” back in the polo club days in 2000, but there isn’t much reporting on the relationship. Other than the fact that they were “caught by a farmer canoodling in a field.”
But she’s stayed close friends with the entire royal family because she was seen at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding back in 2018.
Somewhat ironically, the event was also attended by Rupert Finch, who is one of Kate Middleton’s ex-boyfriends. Kate briefly dated Rupert in school, and he’s also stayed friends with the royals. He and his wife, Lady Natasha Rufus Isaacs, were spotted attending Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
It is unclear why Kate didn’t accompany William to Rose’s wedding, but he was trying to keep a low profile, so maybe they knew a joint royal appearance might risk upstaging the bride and groom.
