Katrina Kaif to reprise role of Hema Malini in ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ remake

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif will now be reprising the role of Hema Malini in the remake of “Seeta Aur Geeta”.

Katrina’s fans will get to see the actress for the first time in a double role.  Hema Malini had effortlessly portrayed two roles of a feisty girl and a demure damsel in distress which was later remade in a similar version called “Chaalbaaz” starring Sridevi, Rajinikanth and Sunny Deol.

Katrina is said to have been excited at the offer and even thought of producing the movie herself. Rumors were once rife that the original director Ramesh Sippy will be helming the remake once again. These rumors were out rightly denied by his son, filmmaker Rohan Sippy.

Reportedly, the rights of the movie are not with Ramesh Sippy and there is a dispute between the Sippy brothers regarding the rights.

Hence Ramesh may be directing the movie after winning the rights of the movie. It will be great if Katrina scores to manage the dual roles, getting her in the league of Hema Malini and Sridevi.

Katrina is currently busy shooting for “Bombay Talkies”, “Dhoom 3” with Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, “Bang Bang”,  “Jagga Jasoos” with her alleged boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor and  “Fitoor”. Once these films are ready to release, the filming of  “Seeta Aur Geeta” will start.
