The diagnosis

As per the New York Post reports, Navratilova went into “Total Panic” when she got the news of double cancer. She told Morgan that she was diagnosed with “squamous cell carcinoma” in her throat and that her doctor thought it was coming from another part of the body. They eventually informed her that she had breast cancer in addition to curable throat cancer after three excruciating nights.
The road to recovery
Navratilova said that the daily radiation treatments for three weeks as well as the three weekly rounds of chemotherapy she underwent throughout the sickness made her go through a whirlpool of emotions and was the hardest thing she had ever done.
Discomfort and swelling became the Tennis star’s constant companion. Divulging into details of her treatment, Navratilova revealed how the proton made her saliva strange, making it hard to taste things the usual way. She underwent the same experiences for her throat during chemotherapy.
Finally, on the latest broadcast of TalkTV, Navratilova proudly claims to be cancer-free after a long battle with the disease.
Nine-time Wimbledon singles champion Martina Navratilova declared that she “should be good to go” following two weeks of preventative radiation on her breast.
