Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine brutally beaten in gym in the US, video goes viral

If you are a fan of rap music, you may have heard of Tekashi 6ix9ine, the rainbow-haired rapper who rose to fame with his hit songs “Gummo” and “Fefe”.  But you may not have heard of his latest misfortune: he was brutally beaten by a group of men inside a gym in Florida.

According to TMZ, Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, was inside the sauna of an LA Fitness on Tuesday when several men randomly jumped him. He did not have security with him at the time. The rapper tried to fight back but was overpowered and outnumbered.

A video posted on Twitter shows two men kicking and punching him as he lies on the bathroom floor, trying to protect his head. The men yell at him to “shut the f–k up” as they assault him. The rapper walks out of the restroom with a bloodied face after the cameraman tells him he’s a fan.

The rapper was rushed to a hospital by ambulance. He suffered injuries to his face, jaw, ribs and back. A photo obtained by TMZ shows his face red and swollen.

This is not the first time Tekashi 6ix9ine has been involved in violence. He was sentenced to two years in prison in 2019 for his role in the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang. He cooperated with federal authorities to take down his former gang associates, which earned him a reduced sentence but also made him a target for retaliation.
