The International Cricket Council (ICC) has ruled out the possibility of Bangladesh hosting any of Pakistan’s matches in the 2023 World Cup. The decision was taken after a meeting of the ICC Board in Dubai on Wednesday.

According to sources, the ICC Board discussed the issue of Pakistan’s home venues for the 2023 World Cup, which will be held in India. Pakistan had requested the ICC to allow them to play some of their matches in Bangladesh, citing security concerns and political tensions with India.

However, the ICC Board rejected Pakistan’s request and decided that all their matches would be played in India. The ICC Board also assured Pakistan that they would provide adequate security arrangements for their team and fans during the tournament.

The ICC Board also confirmed that the 2023 World Cup would feature ten teams, with the top seven teams in the ICC ODI rankings qualifying automatically as of March 31, 2022. The remaining three teams will be decided through a qualifying tournament, which will be held in Zimbabwe in June-July 2022.

The 2023 World Cup will be the first edition to be held entirely in India after the previous two editions in 2011 and 2015, were co-hosted by India with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Australia-New Zealand, respectively. The tournament is scheduled from February 9 to March 26, 2023.
