Well finally, Indian users of iOS devices can desist themselves from having dummy runs of a Western accent.
The Cupertino-based company is finally having some keen lessons in Indian English, the first sprouts of which can be witnessed this March.
Word is that the new Apple update will enable Siri to recognize English which is spoken with the Indian accent.
Apart from support for languages, including Russian, Danish, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Thai and Turkish, iOS 8.3 will also be able to process voice commands that are spoken with Indian English.
Well pretty unfortunate though, that Apple is not priming some Hindi skills for Siri.
Although one of the best voice recognition features available in current day smartphones, Apple Siri is seen lacking when it comes to multiple languages.
Google Voice, which is comparatively new, has induced support for over various languages including the local language in India.
Apple is up for the self-proclaimed ‘shock move’ this time, by making their new iOS update available as public beta.
The first of the roll-out will be made available for developers during the mid-week of March, with a plan to roll out the update for its entire smartphones at a later point this year.
Apple has said that the move has been inspired by the success of the public beta release of OS X Yosemite, for which around 1 million people got engaged. However, the numbers are cut short to 100,000 for the iOS 8.3 update.
Apple is also planning to carry out a similar beta release for the iOS 9 OS, which is intended to make its way by this summer as reported.
