The superintendent of Kalburgi police reported the event to the commissioner of the Department of Public Instruction after having suspicions that mass copying was taking place. Due to allegations that they permitted pupils to “mass copy” during the mathematics portion of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) test on April 3, the Karnataka education department detained 16 teachers in the Kalburgi district on Wednesday.

Mass Copy During SSLC Exam

The event was reported at the Government High School, Gabbur, which is situated in the Afazalpur taluk, according to representatives of the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB). The Kalburgi superintendent of police reportedly stopped at the school after noticing a crowd forming at the testing site on Monday while on election rounds, according to a senior KSEAB official. When the police officer went to investigate, it was discovered that some script fragments were laying next to the window. The SP notified the occurrence to the commissioner of the Department of Public Instruction after having suspicions that mass copying was taken on.

Strong Actions Taken Against The Teacher

The commissioner afterward instructed the assistant commissioner of police to take action against the teachers. As an outcome, all 16 of the teachers assigned to function as invigilators at the testing location were fired. The teachers neglected to notice the scraps of paper scripts or forbid mass duplication. They consequently got suspended. The evaluation process for the 2nd pre-university (PU) exam has already started. A total of 17,000 teachers were sent out for inspection. The SSLC exam evaluation will be slightly delayed because certain teachers will be asked to participate in preparation for the Karnataka Assembly campaign reports The Indian Express.
