Honey Singh in trouble: Mumbai Police books rapper for kidnapping and assaulting event organiser

The Mumbai Police have booked rapper and singer Honey Singh for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting an event organizer on April 20, 2023.

According to the police, the incident occurred on December 31, 2020, when Honey Singh and his associates forcibly took the victim to a farmhouse in Thane and beat him up over a dispute regarding payment for a show.

The victim had filed a complaint against Honey Singh and his manager Bobby Chauhan at the Amboli police station on January 2, 2021. However, the police did not register an FIR until April 19, 2021, after the Bombay High Court directed them to do so. The court was hearing a petition filed by Sinha seeking action against the accused.

The Hindustan Times quoted a senior police officer as saying, “Honey Singh and his manager Bobby Chauhan along with three others, have been booked under IPC sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 342 (wrongful confinement), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation).”

The police said they were investigating the matter and would soon arrest the accused. Honey Singh has not issued any statement on the allegations so far.

Honey Singh, whose real name is Hirdesh Singh, is known for his hit songs like “Lungi Dance,” “Blue Eyes,” “Brown Rang,” and “Dheere Dheere.” He has also acted in films like “The Xpose” and “Zorawar.” He was last seen in the song “Saiyaan Ji” with Nushrratt Bharuccha.
