If you are looking for a fun and free way to enjoy some art and culture in Louisville, Kentucky, you should mark your calendar for the 2023 Cherokee Triangle Art Fair.
This event will occur on April 29th and 30th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., on the scenic Cherokee Parkway between Willow Avenue and Cherokee Road.
What to expect
The Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is a juried fair that showcases more than 200 artists from various disciplines, such as painting, pottery, jewelry, photography, sculpture, and more. You can browse and buy original artworks, or just admire the creativity and talent of the local and regional artists.
But that’s not all. The art fair also offers food, drink, and entertainment for all ages. You can enjoy live music, performances, and demonstrations throughout the weekend. You can also join the popular Children’s Parade that kicks off the event on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m., or visit the Children’s Art Tent for some hands-on activities.
The art fair is organized and operated by volunteers from the Cherokee Triangle Association (CTA), a nonprofit organization that promotes the preservation and improvement of the historic Cherokee Triangle neighborhood. The proceeds from the art fair are used to fund summer concerts in Willow Park, donations to local charities, and other community projects.
How to get there
The Cherokee Triangle Art Fair is located in the heart of the Highlands, one of Louisville’s most vibrant and diverse neighborhoods. You can easily get there by car, bike, bus, or foot. There is plenty of street parking available in the surrounding area, but please be respectful of the residents and their property.
If you are driving, you can use this address for your GPS: 745 Cherokee Rd, Louisville, KY 40204. If you are biking, you can use the bike lanes on Bardstown Road or Grinstead Drive to get to the art fair. If you are taking the bus, you can use routes #17 or #23 to get to Bardstown Road and Willow Avenue, and then walk a few blocks to the art fair.
Please note that pets, firearms, soliciting, and outside alcohol are not allowed at the art fair. Please follow the guidelines and instructions of the volunteers and staff for your safety and enjoyment.
