Aerosmith Declares Final Tour Without Joey Kramer

Following a more than five-decade career, Aerosmith has announced a 40-date farewell tour for this autumn. The band made the announcement on Monday morning, May 1.

One Final Ride

The legendary rockers will celebrate their 50th anniversary by circling North America with a final Peace Out tour of 40 gigs, beginning Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and concluding Jan. 26 in Montreal next year.

A farewell concert in their hometown of Boston will take place on New Year’s Eve; other performances will also take place in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Nashville, and New York.

The Live Nation-produced tour will debut with The Black Crowes. This Friday at 10 a.m. local time, all dates will go on sale.

Kramer Opts Out Of The Tour

As per Variety, guitarist Joe Perry, a fellow Toxic Twin, bassist Tom Hamilton, and guitarist Brad Whitford will all perform with the elastic-limbed Tyler. Joey Kramer, the drummer, has decided to skip this final farewell after missing Aerosmith’s most recent run of Deuces Are Wild residency performances in Las Vegas.

Musical Journey Of Aerosmith

In the first ten years of their 50-year career, Aerosmith rocked out to gritty blues-tinged rock with “Same Old Song and Dance,” “Sweet Emotion,” and the iconic power ballad “Dream On.” In the 1980s, they tore down the barrier between rock and rap with a groundbreaking remake of “Walk This Way” with Run-D.M.C., followed by a string of MTV hits. The 1970-founded band Aerosmith has won four Grammys throughout the years.

Aside from having their own theme park attraction at Disney World in Florida in 1999, Aerosmith also performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2001. Later, the “Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith” ride was also introduced in Paris.
