According to a source, Apple’s latest projects, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models, will include an improved 48MP camera lens on the back.
An Analyst’s Opinion
According to Jeff Pu, an analyst at Hong Kong-based investment company Haitong International Securities, the 48MP camera in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus phones would employ a new three-stacked sensor that can gather more light for improved picture quality. With the iPhone 14 Pro series, Apple debuted a 48MP camera for the first time. The higher resolution sensor enables additional camera features like 48MP ProRAW capability. It will be the first significant improvement in camera resolution for the base model since the iPhone 6s if the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have a new 48MP camera.
But Pu is skeptical about the timely launch of the latest models as supply chain inspections are causing yield problems for the stacked sensor.
The analyst was the first to note the differences between the older iPhones and newer iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models from the 2023 series. He claims that the latest iPhone variant will no longer have solid-state buttons because of “design issues.”
However, he still believes that the iPhone 15 Pro series would have a titanium frame. Additional upgrades rumored for the device include an improved A17 Bionic chip, a higher RAM capacity of 8GB, and a USB-C charging port in place of the lightning port.
TATA’s Contribution
As per Mint reports, Apple would collaborate with the Tata Group to produce the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in India. After Foxconn, Pegatron, and Luxshare, The Tata Group will be the fourth business to make iPhones for Apple.
The latest models of iPhones are scheduled to launch in September 2023.
