Swashbuckling Indian cricketer Suresh Raina tied the knot with Priyanka Chowdhary at a five star hotel in Delhi late on Friday, April 3, 2015.
Priyanka has completed her B.Tech from Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology (KIET) and works in the Netherlands.
Many Indian cricketers like MS Dhoni and wife Sakshi, Virat Kohli and his Bollywood actress girlfriend Anushka Sharma, ICC Chairman N Srinivasan, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav were seen in attendance at the wedding.
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also was invited for the marriage reception. But he was unable to attend as he was in Bangalore for the BJP meet. But Modi sent his wishes to the Raina.
According to a source, “Raina has received a letter of blessings from our honourable Prime Minister. The invitation was sent to the Prime Minister as Raina was nominated by Mr. Modi for the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”.
The main highlights of the wedding was the variety in food and snacks. The Indian Express wrote, “The flavours of Lakhnavi cuisine tingled the taste buds at cricketer Suresh Raina’s New Delhi wedding where rich and succulent Tundey kebabs wrapped in thick crusty parathas will be offered with onion rings and spicy dhaniya chutney.”
The other items that were made available to the guests by a team of four chefs were shami kebabs, galawat kebabs, mutton korma and mutton biryani.
